Through two games, Jacob Thomas has performed at a replacement level, earning a 64.6 overall grade across 44 graded snaps. His contributions have come predominantly on special teams, which accounted for 33 of his total snaps. In Week 2, Thomas made the most of his limited defensive action by timing a B-gap blitz to overpower a running back and force an interception, avoiding any negative marks on the day. His grade dipped from 65.9 to 61.7 in Week 3 as his role shifted almost exclusively to special teams. While he flashed in Week 3 with a key wall block on a punt return touchdown, his overall mark was dragged down by losing lane integrity on two kickoff coverage reps.
